Cultured Books Literacy Foundation

Cultured Books Literacy Foundation is dedicated to broadening how children see themselves and others by bringing books to life through engaging literary and cultural programs. Our signature event, St. Pete Reads! Lit Fest is hosted annually at The Woodson African American Museum of Florida during Family Literacy Month. The festival features interactive author visits, dynamic workshops, and lively community story times, all designed to integrate reading as a fun and essential part of everyday life. At Lit Fest, we also connect youth and families with various literacy resources to extend the celebration’s impact, reinforcing the idea that “a community that cultivates a culture of reading has a more literate community.” Ultimately, our goal is to establish a permanent cultural space in South St. Pete that consistently hosts engaging literary programs and kid-lit exhibitions, bringing books to life and enriching the community’s literacy journey on an ongoing basis.
