Healing Tampa Bay
Healing Tampa Bay is located in the heart of St. Petersburg. Our focus is to engage, enrich, and elevate our most needy individuals and families that are overlooked and underserved. We pride ourselves on competence and compassion navigating the challenges the homeless and low-income face daily. We are a human first organization with an emphasis on grace and service. All the services we provide are assisted one on one. We look to make an immediate impact in the lives of our neighbors and within our community.
Faith Youth Services
Faith Youth Services (FYS) is a 501c3 St. Petersburg-based organization founded by Cresencio “Chris” Davis in 2014 whose focus is to serve children who have faced challenging situations, such as trauma, abuse, neglect and being placed in the foster care system. Through positive mentorship and role-modeling, FYS provides constructive guidance to encourage these young people towards achievable goals, identify areas of improvement, acquire new skills and improve on the skills and strength they already have to develop into self-sufficient members of society. FYS faithfully and joyfully engages with youth to support their holistic growth and development to improve their quality of life.
SPIFFS – St. Petersburg International Folk Fair Society
SPIFFS, the St. Petersburg International Folk Fair Society, is known to generations of local residents for the annual International Folk Fair (our 49th is February 20-22, 2025). We also manage the City of St. Petersburg’s Sister City program, mainly the Takamatsu Student Ambassador Exchange program. These two tasks represent our commitments to the immigrant and first generation communities in the area, and to fostering world peace through one on one interactions between cultures. SPIFFS is the only independent multi-ethnic organization of its kind in the United States. It was founded in 1975 as an umbrella organization of ethnic groups who joined together to present a festival during the U.S. Bicentennial Celebration. SPIFFS has been recognized by the Library of Congress and is found in its Local Legacies in Washington, D.C.
Mind the Gap Together
We are a community-based organization dedicated to bridging the gaps in resources and services, partnering with communities and other organizations to advance social justice and racial equity. Through our current ASAP (Additional Support and Programming) project, we are working collaboratively with our partners to provide individual and group mental health services, community support, and improve access to resources.
Pinellas Opportunity Council
Pinellas Opportunity Council, Inc. is a member of the Community Action Partnership, a network of some 1,100 private non-profit and public Community Action Agencies created under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 to combat poverty throughout the United States. We have been serving the residents of Pinellas County since 1968 and we mobilize federal, state, local and private resources to develop programs that deliver services to help individuals and families alleviate conditions of poverty, empower people to move towards economic self-sufficiency, provide opportunities for people to reach their full potential, and revitalize communities.
Empowered Parents
Empowered Parents is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to equipping fathers and parents with the tools they need to foster meaningful connections with their children. Through experiential learning, psychoeducation, and holistic approaches, Empowered Parents aims to inspire positive social change, strengthen relationships, and combat fatherlessness. By hosting immersive weekend retreats. The organization provides participants with invaluable skills and experiences. With a vision to create empowered families and thriving communities.
League of Women Voters of the St. Petersburg Area (LWVSPA)
Our mission is simple: Empowering voters. Defending Democracy. The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
